Nuance announced the availability of its Dragon Dictation application on the Apple Store for FREE.

For those of you living on the moon for the past few years, Nuance provides the speech recognition engine for Mac Speech Dictate and is also the developer of the famous Dragon Naturally Speaking for PC users.

Dragon Dictation for the iPhone, is a speak recognition app that allows users to speak naturally in the MIC that will transform it to text instead of typing it. You then have the option send it by E-Mail, text message or save it to clipboard to easily paste it in Facebook or Twitter app. You can speak anything from one-line text message for your Twitter or Facebook status, to a multi-paragraph E-mail. You have the power to say anything up to five times faster than typing. To enter punctuation marks just say comma, period, question mark, exclamation mark…

This application requires a data plan or Wi-Fi connection because after your message is recorded, it is quickly transmitted to Nuance servers where a speech recognition algorithm is run against your data. The resulting text is then returned to your iPhone very quickly.

Go get it from the Apple Store while it’s FREE for a limited time!

Note: This application is only available in the US.
