YouTube will soon support 1080p HD videos [video]

youtube_1080p_720pYouTube has announced that support for 1080p HD videos is coming very soon. Starting next week, YouTube’s HD mode will add support for 720p and 1080p. Of course this will all depend on the resolution of the original source…

YouTube-Global commented the following on there blog site:

As resolution of consumer cameras increases, we want to make sure YouTube is the best home on the web to showcase your content. For viewers with big monitors and a fast computer, try switching to 1080p to get the most out of the fullscreen experience.

So this mean, you can now show off your 1080p HD videos if you camera supports it. For those of you who already have uploaded 1080p videos, YouTube is in the process to re-encode them.

Take a look at the screenshots in this video to see just how large is 1080p.
